For days now, Jeff Kramer and I have chased each other the Fair trying to top one another in the stories we find and publish. We even swapped story ideas over pizza and ox. In his presence, I am most humbled. I marveled are his ability to sell six of his Gater Shakes.

But I also know the Syracuse market and when I read Jeff's nasty little blurb on 'quilts' I knew he was in deep doo doo. You do NOT offend quiltmakers.

Today's Syracuse newspaper proved just why you do not mess with these evil people. "He best watch his hairy back, because there will be handmade voodoo dolls with his name on them being sewn up all across the region (just think of how many pins we each have!)."

I fear for Jeff. He still just not get "it" about life in Syracuse. Quilts are everything here.

Still,

... in that same letter, the writer also said about Jeff that, "Perhaps we quilters should all go out to the state fair, hog-tie him, stuff him with fried dough, rub Giannelli sausage all over him, dunk him in a vat of Dinosaur barbecue sauce, then drop him off in the goat barn. Now that might be amusing."

I got an instant erection when I read that.
