Ted Nugent put on the best show Sunday night I have ever seen at the Fairgrounds. His music was old style, old school, southern blues rock. It seemingly took no effort for him to show once again why it is that he has endured as an icon since I was a young teenager.

He referred to himself as “Uncle Ted” several times. At age 56 (57?), ‘Uncle Ted’ is more like Grandpa Ted. But in my opinion, that Mother put out more hard licks and spine tingling fuzzwahs that had me on the tabletop moving and banging my head to every beat. If you saw an aging balding fat dude standing on a table top in the back of Chevrolet court, sucking down a big sangria slushie and chomping on a cigar, all the while banging his head a` la Butthead, well, you know that was not me … just someone who looked like me.

The animalistic energy that I remember from the purple haze of my high school days was as ever present today as it was then. I should have Ted’s energy and charisma when I turn 56 (57?). He was just on fire and I would have followed him anywhere …

Anywhere, that is … until he opened his big fat mouth.

Now, I do get Uncle Ted. I understand his message and what he is selling. Who he is preferring as his market is as clear as the teeny tiny thin grey goatee that Uncle Teddie is sporting on his chin nowadays.

I was able to stomach Ted’s patronizing patriotism. Constantly making references to soldiers and war and terrorism and saluting the flag and opening with Jimi Hendrix’s Star Spangled Banner … that kind of mass market media hyped bland empty headed patriotic pandering I can tolerate. The French were a favorite target. A great question asked by Ted in one of his songs was, “have you ever heard of a French dream? Or a Japanese dream? Or a Mexican dream?” Teddy was implying that there is only one dream ... an American dream. Honestly, if Ted believes that to be true, then it is a lack of education and enlightenment and not the lack of dreams from Ted seems to suffer. But hey, I got the point. The only dream is an American dream.

Heck, it was Ted Nugent. What did I expect?

What I did NOT expect to hear was a foul mouthed, rude, insulting, degrading, racist, arrogant spew of filth running out of his mouth between the beauty of Wango Tango, Dog Eat Dog, and Cat Scratch Fever.

After finishing a fantastic highly energized Dog Eat Dog with sizzling hot licks, Crazy Uncle Ted takes a bow … and then belts out loud for the entire crowd to hear words to the effect that, “Speaking of Dog Eat Dog, … the Koreans … they can go eat Dog, it is sold right over there by the Elephant Ears.” He also referenced New York State Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as a dog not even worth eating.

Dear Uncle Ted also lost his marbles when he got onto the subject of drugs. He said that, “if you know someone on meth, get them help … and if they refuse help, then beat the living shit out of them.”

"Kids. Ozzy (Osbourne) got high. Ozzy's brain-dead. I went hunting, and I'm still Ted."

I am not sure if I was more offended by Ted’s craziness or the screaming cheers coming from the audience every time he tossed another of these disgusting comments. The loudest and most offensive cheer came in response to Nugent’s ballyhoo, “if you don’t speak the language, then get the hell out.”

Me? I just stood there stunned.

The irony of it all was when Old Man Nugent asked the crowd if we, “noticed how he was keeping his show clean for the kids.” Pointing out all the children in the audience, Nugent said, “the most important thing a parent can teach a child is how to hunt.”

In furthering his plan to protect the children from profanity and pornography, he feels it is far more important to denigrate other people as well as to kill.

Well, in my opinion, Mr. Nugent owes an apology to not only the Koreans in our community, but to the entire New York State Fair and the Syracuse community. I love his music, but tonight he was nothing more than an angry old man whose head is stuck so far up his ass he has no clue as to the harm he is causing to our society.

Thanks Ted. You took away from me a piece of a cherished youthful memory. Once, you AND Ozzie AND Carlos were Gods. Now, there are only two. So far as I am concerned, Ted Nugent, you can just keep running with the devil. You two are made for each other.

(p.s. ... not a single mention of his behavior was mentioned in the Syracuse Newspaper review. Apparently, the newspaper seems to have no problem with this kind of poison being fed to our community).

In total agreement.

He took politics to a whole new level during that performance.

Uncle Ted became Uncle Fester.

The profanity didn't bother me at all, and I actually liked his song that was dedicated to Hillary.

but...

All of that other bullshit was exactly that...

BULLSHIT!!!

Like he never took drugs or drank any alcohol.

Must be easy when someone is always there to drive you around to places.

Yes...Uncle Ted needs to bag it in his ass.

is alot more talk than action. I met him about 10 yrs ago and he was a pretty quiet guy. I also met his wife and some of his kids. My boyfriend saw him last night but I haven't got his review of the show yet. I know Ratdogs was good though.

I was wondering why you sounded excited about Nugent. I dropped him in my toilet over a year ago. I refuse to celebrate against mine and my families best interest.

I have no tolerance for bush supporters. It's time to stop being nice. They're not nice. They're fucking assholes. I will not spare the feelings of those who don't give a crap about mine.

All Bush supporters aren't bad people. Some people supported Bush because they didn't feel that anyone else was any better.

a bush supporter, but I'm not a communist (far left) supporter either. I think we all have the same principles deep down, we just have different views on how to achieve those goals.

The "Rude neo-cons" have done a lot of damage to the Republican party, in my biased opinion. Of course, one could say the same about Michael Moore also.

Think about LABOR this Labor Day

and thank God for the road our forefathers paved for us.

I don't know how anyone could be a far left supporter in this country, as there is no far left to support.

How'd we go from Ted Nugent to Dubya?
